The Confucius Institute of Rutgers University,
together with the Feng Yun Go School,
hosted a regional go tournament on April 1, 2017.

The second World Mind Sports Games were held in Lille, France, from August 9 through 23, 2012.
Of the 21 American players selected to represent the United States,
8 were Feng Yun's students,
more than one third of the United States team.
We congratulate these young players:
Justin Ching, Forest Song, Amy Su, Gabriella Su,
Yang Xu, Jasmine Yan, Lionel Zhang, and Ricky Zhao.
Five of these players studied with Feng Yun in an
intensive workshop in New Jersey
during the summer.
Workshops like this are by invitation only to Feng Yun's better students.

The New Jersey Open go tournament was run at Princeton on February 25-26, 2012.
Former FYGS student and teacher Michael Chen won all his games in a strong field
to become the 2012 New Jersey State Champion;
the runner up for the State Championship, Ricky Zhao, is also a former FYGS student.
Special mention also to Forest Song who won all his games and reached 5 dan level.

Feng Yun started her go school in the United States almost ten years ago,
and recently two of her early students, Jasmine Yan and Ricky Zhao, now high school seniors,
received early admission to Harvard and Princeton respectively.
Both cited playing and studying go as important influences in enabling their academic achievements.
Congratulations to Jasmine and Ricky!

Feng Yun represented the United States in the
SportAccord World Mind Games
in Beijing, China, in December 2011.
The American team placed fifth, after China, Korea, Japan, and Chinese Taipei.

Feng Yun represented North America in the Bing Sheng Cup women's tournament in Suzhou, China, in October 2011.
